Rod had
several frontal 'Scalp Reductions' and 'Hair Transplants'
elsewhere. The appearance was quite abnormal and disfigured
and required that he wears a hairpiece. The left frontal area
was lifted away from the skull. He was literally 'scalped'.
There was a deep indented scar running from temple to temple
along the frontal hairline. The frontal scalp behind this
was concrete hard and avascular due to deep tissue fibrosis
and scarring. 1000 chest and abdominal hair succeeded where
other treatments failed. He is a work in progress. But he no
longer wears a wig. The remaining scar is easily hidden and
disregarded and does not draw attention.
The
significance of this illustration is THREE fold:
1) This is
the first time ever we published in
HairSite clear repair work photos using
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) that yields good density on
severely scarred tissue in as little as 9 months post op.
2) This is
the first time we documented a repair case that is done by
100% body hair instead of using traditional scalp hair as
donors.
3) This is
the first time we documented and illustrated hairline
reconstruction using 100% body hair.
