Hi Doctor:

I post as Alex in HairSite. I'm 36 and I live in London. I don't mind travelling to other countries for a good quality hair transplant procedure. I never had surgery before.

MY GOALS
I'm mostly interested in repairing my hairline but I would also like to thicken up the mid-section of my scalp if possible.

I would prefer not to have strip surgery as I like my hair short at the back and sides and I do not want a scar.

My Questions

1) Based on my photos, do you think if I am a good candidate for FUE?

2) Based on my photos, how many grafts do you think I need to accomplish my goals ?

3) If you opt for a FUE procedure, is it true that I can wear my hair short at the back and sides ?

5) Is permanent shock fallout an issue for someone like me ?

6) What is the most realistic scenario for me? Can you bring me back to a Norwood 1 ?

7) Should I just focus on reconstructing the hairline and leave the top and the crown as is?

8) How many grafts will I need just to restore the hairline and how many grafts will I need if I wish to fill in the top and the crown areas as well?

7) Any other comments or advice would be appreciated.

Regards
Alex

Dr. Robert Jones' Comments

Hello Alex,

1. Yes, you appear to be a good candidate for FUE

2. 1500-2000 fu's

3. you will be able to buzz your head and no-one will know that you have had a hair transplant.

5. No

6.If you stay on Propecia, you could return to a Norwood 1

7. At your age you could do both, but reconstructing the hairline should be the priority.

8. Hairline: 1000-1200;  crown 600-800

Please email me your phone number and I'll call you to discuss your hair loss.
