Hi Doctor:

I've taken 10 pics. Unfortunately I found it near impossible to get a decent shot of my strip scar, but at least you get an idea of the density and thickness.  Not sure about BHT.  I do have some good leg hair, but not much on the torso.

I am 33 years old.

My Transplant Goals

A) Fill thinning areas behind transplanted hairline.  Transplanted area begins at the hairline and is 1 to 1.5 inches deep.

B) Reconstruct the transplanted area.  The current transplants are pluggy, improperly angled (straight up) and sparsely spaced.  Also there is a noticeable ridge along my entire hairline.  Lastly, some cobblestoning is present.

C) Eventually I would like to fill in the linear scar from my strip procedures as well as a vertical scar I have on the back of my head (non-transplant related)

Questions

1.  How might you approach my particular case?  What do you think is the best strategy?

2.  How many procedures/years would accomplish my stated transplant goals?

3. Given my situation, can I expect to have a natural looking head of hair?

As you know a bad transplant can practically ruin your life.  I'm hoping this new work will change mine for the better.  Thanks a million, this means alot!

Thank you.

Dr. Robert Jones' Comments

Case 94

You are a tough case. Very difficult to make your hairline look completely natural.

There are different ways to approach your problem. All involve removing a lot of the existing plugs and trying to implant grafts in front of the plugs at a proper angle to hide the minigrafts and ridging.

Please email me your telephone number and I'll call you to discuss your case in detail.
