Dear Doctor:

I am 30 years old and I have been thinning since I was 20. Most of
all hairloss occurred when I was 25. I have since been using either
propecia or Avodart which has substantially thickened my hair and
apparently stopped new loss.

GOALS
I would really like to fill in the bald spot on my crown as well as
possible move my hairline forward slightly (if possible).

QUESTIONS
1. I would like an opinion on how often I would need to come back in for
additional procedures to account for future hairloss.

2. How successful would a procedure appear, considering my very fine hair?

3. How long would any implants take to grow in and appear "natural" ?

4. Would I be able to wear a hat immediately after the procedure?

5. How long would the procedure take at the clinic?

6. Should I wait for "Hair Multiplication" ?

7. What would be a better option for me, FUE or STRIP, assuming that money is no object, just want best possible results.

8. If you feel that my goals are not realistic or if they are not in my best interest, please offer suggestions as to what would be the best for my situtaion.

Thank you very much for this opportunity and please let me know if you
need any additional information.

Sincerely,
HairSite Visitor.

Dr. Jones' Comments

Hello,

I would suggest being very cautious transplanting your crown area.

At age 30 with this amount of hair loss, plus having thin hair, you are not a good candidate for surgery. Consider staying on meds and just have a procedure to thicken up your hair line.

You could wear a hat immediately post-op and the procedure would take one day.

Seriously consider waiting for hair multiplication,

Dr. Robert Jones
